Sacred Delhi

Discover another side of Delhi through an immersive journey into India’s living traditions of faith, prayer and community. This experience brings together two important places of worship, offering guests the opportunity to observe and respectfully participate in rituals that remain an integral part of everyday life in the capital.

Begin at Lakshmi Narayan Temple, popularly known as Birla Mandir, an elegant Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. As the day moves towards evening, experience the atmosphere of a traditional aarti ceremony, when lamps are offered before the deities accompanied by devotional chants, bells and prayers. Guests may receive a traditional pooja thali and prasad, creating a personal connection with the rituals and customs practised by devotees.

Continue to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, one of Delhi’s most prominent Sikh places of worship and a beautiful symbol of faith, equality and community. Visitors can experience the peaceful atmosphere of the gurudwara while learning about the principles of service and hospitality that lie at the heart of Sikh tradition.

More than a religious visit, this experience provides a thoughtful introduction to India’s diverse spiritual heritage. From Hindu rituals and devotional practices to the Sikh principles of seva and community, each moment offers an opportunity to understand the beliefs and traditions that continue to shape Delhi.

Please note: Aarti timings may vary according to the religious calendar. Modest clothing and respectful behaviour are expected at both places of worship.
